ENG Workshop - Responsibilities of parties
The European Zoo Nutrition Group (ENG) organises this three-day workshop in Ghent in January. ENG is a working group of scientists, zoo staff, lecturers and other educators. ENG works on a not-for-profit basis. The workshop is an educational event designed to help participants develop and refine practical skills in zoo animal nutrition.
ENG is responsible for the workshop programme, promotion, registration, participant payments, and all other arrangements needed to organise and deliver the event. ENG members Professor Geert Janssens and Professor Marcus Clauss are responsible for the programme. Dr Sarah Depauw manages the website, and Tjalling Huisman supports the organizational work. These ENG members receive no payment for their work. Trainers receive reimbursement only for travel and accommodation costs.
Participant fees are set with the aim of covering the workshop’s costs. The event is not organised for profit. Any surplus, although not intended, will be used for research and education relating to zoo animals, including the development of educational materials and, where appropriate, initial costs for a future educational event.
Stichting Science4Animals makes its payment system available for the workshop. It has no other role in organising the event and has no other interest in it. Ghent University provides the venue and catering at cost; it does not organise the workshop and is not responsible for it.
